Netflix & Chill | Gone Girl

This week you guys voted for a movie on my Instagram poll, instead of another series, and so my boyfriend and I made a list of all our favourite movies we’ve watched together and picked out our top 5. To carry on that same theme of ‘not seeing that coming’ from last weeks series ‘The Sinner’, we decided that this weeks movie would be ‘Gone Girl’.

The film begins with a very personal and detailed insight into the marriage of Nick and Amy Dunne. When Amy goes missing on her 5th wedding anniversary her husband becomes the main culprit, and only becomes more suspicious as he hires a legal defence attorney (Tyler Perry) – What could he have to hide? As we start out on this hunt to find his wife, we learn more about who Nick and Amy truly are and what really happened to her.

This is a very twisted missing person’s story, where you won’t see the end coming. It is definitely a psychological thriller with a range of suspense throughout.

As a whole we rate this movie an 8.5 out of 10.

This sadly isn’t on Netflix, however you can find it online. We hope you enjoy it!

Netflix & Chill | The Sinner

This week you guys voted for a series on my Instagram poll, so my boyfriend and I decided to kick start our ‘Netflix & Chill’ posts with ‘The Sinner’. This series is in our top 3 favourites and is one of the most recent series we’ve watched.

Jessica Biel plays Cora Tannetti, an ordinary mum who lives an ordinary life. Until one unordinary day at the beach leads her to commit an outrageous act of violence, and she has no idea why. When an investigator decides to go the extra mile to look into what exactly lead Cora to this moment of madness, we discover that all is not as it seems.

This series has a gravitational pull from the jump, and so if you enjoy the first episode you will love every other that follows. The 8 episodes take us on a ride that at first is terrifying in its intensity and is simultaneously astonishing in its deliberate pacing, but its conclusion leaves you feeling grateful that it is all over.

As a whole we rate this series an 8 out of 10.

Series 2 started yesterday, and we cannot wait to watch it tonight. But for all those wanting to start series 1, you can find it on Netflix.

Love Always

Beauty | July Favourites

I know I’ve said it before but honestly where is the year going? How are we in August? Anyways, I decided to do this blog post on my July favourites because there’s a lot of new products I have tried recently, and a few products I have repurchased that I used to use and am loving all over again.

Lately my mum has a better and more updated make up collection than me, and so when I was playing around with make up looks one weekend I borrowed a few products from her. I used the Fenty Beauty skin sticks for my contour and my highlight, and I fell inlove. I love products that are creamy and that easily blend, and these are just that. My make up was absolutely flawless, and was just so radiant and natural looking.

Now everyone knows I love my Nars products, especially my all day luminous weightless foundation, and so when I heard about their new foundation I had to try it. And I can tell you now the Nars natural radiant longwear foundation does not disappoint. I’m still in the shade Syracuse, I’m so glad they stuck to the same shades in all their foundations, and I just am obsessed with it. You all need to try it.

Can we talk about Tatti Lashes please? They are now my all time favourite strip lashes. I tried 3 different styles – TL3, TL Mitchell and TL4 and I love them all. Their glue is also one of the best glues I have used for strip lashes, they helped the lashes stick so easily and quickly and I have never had to reapply any glue when wearing them. Just to add the packaging is so beautiful, and I just love how much thought and effort has gone into these lashes.

I went through a phase of trying out concealers this year, I had only ever used nars and so I wanted to try a few others. I bought the tarte shape tape concealer, MAC pro longwear and  prep+prime concealers, and the L.A pro girl concealers. And so for the last couple of months I have been using those, and playing around with them. It wasn’t until I borrowed my sisters nars concealer, when I was getting ready in her room, that I realised that no other concealer will beat it and so I repurchased it. I use the creamy concealer in the shade custard and I just think it’s the perfect shade for my complexion. The concealer itself is so easy to blend and it just leaves me with such a flawless under eye.

And lastly I’ve gone back to using my Nars luminous moisture cream at night. With all this beautiful sun, I feel like my skin can occasionally dry out and so I just apply this at night to add a little moisture back into my skin and add to my glow.

What were your July favourites?
